platform experience and workflow redesign

the context

as ott platforms expanded across markets, the demand for localized content grew with them. for a leading global localization provider, that meant managing thousands of subtitles, dubs, translations, and related media assets across increasingly complex workflows.

the existing ecosystem made it difficult for teams to quickly find the right assets, keep related content synchronized, and move work between different stages of production. What was needed was more than a repository. the organization needed a scalable system that could bring assets, workflows, and teams together.

what needed to change

a leading global localization provider partnered with clarient to reimagine how its teams managed and reused media assets at scale.

the challenge was to bring fragmented localization workflows into a more connected experience without adding complexity for the teams using it. that meant rethinking how assets were organized, discovered, synchronized, and moved through the content lifecycle while creating a scalable foundation for millions of assets and future growth.

the opportunity

the challenge presented an opportunity to rethink asset management as a connected operational experience rather than another layer of technology.

a centralized platform could bring fragmented assets and workflows together, making it easier for teams to find, manage, reuse, and move content through the localization lifecycle. with the right experience, the system could also create a stronger foundation for global collaboration and future growth.

how we responded

research, workflow mapping, design, and validation moved together. working closely with internal teams and stakeholders, clarient focused on understanding the operational reality behind asset management before translating it into the platform experience.

design around real workflows

we mapped how assets moved through localization and where teams encountered delays, duplication, or uncertainty. the experience was structured around these real workflows rather than forcing teams to adapt their processes to the system.

build for scale from the start

the platform needed to support growing asset volumes, multiple formats, and different teams without becoming harder to navigate. we established a flexible experience and architecture that could expand as the organization’s needs evolved.

make complexity easier to manage

asset relationships, versions, and synchronization could become difficult to track across a global operation. we designed clearer ways to find, manage, update, and reuse assets so teams could spend less time navigating the system and more time moving content forward.

what we built and what changed

clarient designed a centralized media asset management platform that made complex localization workflows easier to navigate, helping teams find, reuse, and manage assets with greater speed and confidence.

the platform connected asset storage, synchronization, lifecycle management, and existing tools into one scalable experience. the result was 3x faster asset retrieval and reuse, a 40% reduction in workflow errors, and a 2.5x increase in operational efficiency, with more than 85% adoption within three months.

more importantly, the platform gave global media teams a foundation that could scale with growing content volumes without adding complexity to everyday work. this is where thoughtful product design creates value: not simply by making a system easier to use, but by helping organizations turn complex operations into experiences that work better for the people running them.
